Pressure Washer Hoses

When it comes to cleaning surfaces such as concrete and metal, nothing beats the forceful cleaning of pressure washers. However, a pressure washer only works as good depending on the type of hose you use on it. The truth is pressure washer hoses differ amongst each other. It does not mean if a hose works great on one pressure washer that it will work on the same manner with another one. This is because each pressure washer is different as they come in different PSI and GPM configuration, which simply means your hose, needs to match both the pressure washers PSI and GPM. If you don’t, you will risk damaging your pressure washer, or your hose will leak or fail from too much water pressure.

The quality, reliability, and durability of a pressure washer hose will depend greatly on the need of the project. A good quality pressure washer hose will be able to handle pressures of up to 5,000 PSI as well as the ability to adapt to both cold and hot water, which means it should be capable of tolerating a temperature of up to 300° Fahrenheit. A reduction in a hose’s outside diameter will also help in making it lighter for easier use and handling.

If you will be using a pressure washer, it is important that you first consider the cleaning task you will be performing. If you will be washing a small car, a PSI of 1,000 – 2,000 will be sufficient enough, so a smaller hose will work perfectly fine and should not cause any concerns or problems. Since the car would just be within close proximity, you would not have the need for a hose reel. Longer pressure washer hoses are ideal for bigger jobs, such as home cleaning or outdoor surface cleaning.

If you will be cleaning an outdoor surface, you need to have a hose that can handle immense amount of pressure, around 3,000 – 4,000 PSI. This means you need to have a heavy duty pressure washer hose so that you do not suffer from any catastrophic failure on either your hose or your pressure washer. However, if you will be using the pressure washer for home cleaning, a PSI of 2,000 will get the job done. A lengthy hose would be ideal to help make maneuvering outside your home easier.

There are other pressure washer accessories that you may want to have for your pressure washer that can make cleaning easier, such as different nozzles that can help to change the stream and directionality of the water. However, even with these nozzle attachments, you will still need to have a flexible type of hose that can support different nozzles. This makes it important to take into account that when buying a pressure washer hose, to make sure that it is versatile, so that you would not encounter any problems later on.
