How Pressure Washers Work?
Pressure washers are basically mechanical sprayers that rely on high-pressure water to help remove dirt, dust, grime, mold, and mud from the surfaces of concrete pavements and roads, objects, structures, and vehicles. The machine accelerates the water and forces it out of the nozzle at a higher rate of speed. The pressure coming from the machine is often twice or more than that of a garden hose.
There are basically two types of pressure washers – Gas and Electric.
Electric-powered pressure washers are often designed for lighter cleaning jobs because they are not able to produce higher pressures as compared to gasoline-powered ones. Instead, they are mostly used for cleaning around the home, such as on windows and glasses. Since they don’t supply that much pressure, they don’t have the tendency to crack or break them.
Gasoline-powered pressure washers are more powerful than their electric counterparts and are mostly designed for heavy duty use. These washers produce a very high pressure that is used mostly for cleaning in a professional manner. They help to clean surfaces more neatly and more effectively. There are more powerful gasoline-powered washers that are made for industrial use. They are used for building constructions, for stripping off paint, engine component cleaning, and many more.
When looking for a pressure washer, the most important thing that you need to consider would be its PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) as this is the indicator of how much water pressure the machine can produce. Another thing you must also consider is the machine’s GPM (Gallons per Minute) as this is the indicator of how much flow or volume of water the machine can force out every minute. The high combination of both PSI and GPM will mean more pressure and greater power.
Pressure washers can be downright expensive so it is highly advised to consider how you will be utilizing it first before going out and spending money on one. Homeowners usually use it for cleaning their decks, patio, car, lawnmowers, driveways, etc. Such jobs only require less powerful pressure washers which is why an electric-powered one is suitable enough for most of their cleaning jobs. Pressure washers are available at most hardware stores, although looking for a good one online would be a better alternative. There are many websites that caters to this market and they also provide useful information regarding their products as well as professional tips on proper care and maintenance of your pressure washers.
